What You Perceive
Is What You Receive

“Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that believeth on me hath
everlasting  life.

I am that bread of life.”  John 6:47,48

Do you have a perception problem?
The way you perceive people is the
way you will receive them.

If you don’t perceive Jesus to be
the Son of God, you will not receive
Him as such.

Inaccurate perception and
works-oriented religions turn
people away from a potential
relationship with God’s Son.

We can never solve our sin
problem through religious effort.
Religion promises more than
it can deliver.

Satan wants you to work your way
to heaven.  That is a great weapon
He has in his arsenal.

Do not fall for it!

Religion says do-do-do.
A relationship with Jesus
says done!  A relationship with
Jesus is the only way to heaven.
Jesus has done all that is required
of God for you to be saved.  All of  our attempts at salvation fall short.

Jesus had harsh words to say against
the religious rulers and wrong
perception, because it led people
down the wrong path.

What is your perception of Christ?

You have a perception problem if
you see Jesus as anything less
than the Son God and
Savior of the world.

Salvation comes through
Christ alone.
Don’t rely on religion-
-Jesus is the Way.

God bless,

Gerald English

Quantum Physics in the Bible

If you have any interest in the
fascinating world of quantum physics,
you've heard of multidimensional and
string theory. Scientist now tell us
that there are not 3 dimensions plus
time, as Einstine taught us, but rather
10 dimensions - 4 we can experience, and
6 more that are wound up so small and
tight that we can neither experience nor
comprehend them. What you may not
know is that careful students of
Bible knew this all along!

The thirteenth century thinker,
Nachmanide, came to the conclusion
that there are 10 Dimensions, 4 that are
knowable, and 6 that are beyond our
realm of comprehension and experience.
His source was the first chapter of
Genesis, where he counted a total of 10
times where the text says "And God
said." His understanding was that each
time God spoke, a new dimension was
created.

Several incidents in scripture suggest a
glimpse into hyper-dimensionality.
Elisha was at Doth-an when the King of
Israel sent a great army to surround the
town and do away with Elisha. He was not
upset about it, but his servant was
hysterical. Elisha prayed that the
servant's eyes would be opened, and he
saw "the hills full of horses and
chariots of fire all around Elisha." (2
Kings 6:17) This couldn't simply have
been a vision, as they were prepared to
fight flesh and blood soldiers. They
must have been waiting for battle in
another dimension.

When the resurrected Christ appeared to
the disciples in the upper room, He
simply appeared among them, even though
the doors were shut and bolted. (John
20:19) It could be that He had the
ability to pass through solid walls, but
if that were the case, I think John
would have mentioned that He
materialized out of the wall, and walked
back through it to leave. No, he simply
appeared in their midst and then
disappeared. suggesting that He was able
to step into the space from a higher
level of dimensionality.

Paul's prayer in Ephesians 3 talks about
the multidimensional nature of Christ's
love for us. We are to comprehend 4
dimensions: the breadth, the length, the
depth and the height. The Greek word for
length can be used for a span of time
rather than distance. Once we have
comprehended the great extent of His
love in 4 dimensions, we are to go on
and know the unknowable levels of His
love, and as a result be filled with all
the fullness of God. Could this be
referring to the remaining 6 dimensions,
which to the natural human mind are
"unknowable"? (Eph 3:18,19)

God bless you!!

THE SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE

Beginning with Ephesians 3, Paul
challenges believers to think and live
different from the world out of which
they came.  Ephesians 5:18 is one of the
most crucial verses relating to
Christian living.  It is necessary to
“filled with the Spirit”, Paul says, if
we are going to be able to live the new
life in Christ.

Often many tend to focus on Paul’s
words, “do not be drunk with wine”
rather than being filled with the
Spirit.  We must remember the culture
out of which most of the believers in
Paul’s day came from a very difficult
culture.  The use of wine and even
drunkenness was a spiritual perverted
means of worship for pagans.  (Even
today, many attempt to have a “deeper”
spiritual experience through the use of
alcohol, drugs, psychedelic lighting,
ear-pounding music, and hysteria.)  Paul
reminds us that Christians are not to
seek religious fulfillment through pagan
means.  So, Paul is not discussing the
morals of drinking wine or not drinking
wine.  His primary concern is religious,
not moral.  Worldly means is not the way
to religious fulfillment!

First note the reason for the
Spirit-filled life.  To attempt to live
the Christian life Paul has described in
chapters 3-4 without the Spirit is to
rely upon our own resources and
strength.  Romans 8:8 reminds us that
“those who are in the flesh cannot
please God.”  Regardless of how “good”
our life may be, “without faith it is
impossible to please God.”

    According to Scripture, every believer
is indwelt by the Holy Spirit (I
Corinthians 3:16).  Being filled with
the Spirit means that we submit to him
and allow him to live through us.
Honestly, Christians may act fleshly,
but it will never be the desire of their
heart.  That is why Scripture commands
us to be filled or submit on a continual
basis to the Spirit who lives within us.

Let me mention two requirements in
order for this to be true in our lives.
One is the confession of sin.  After
all, it is sin (self) which limits or
does not allow God’s Spirit to control
our lives.  Secondly, we must be filled
with God’s Word.  The Spirit uses
Scripture!  This is how the Lord
controls our thinking and action.
Through the Word of God, the Spirit
leads us to say, do, and be what God
wants us to say, do and be.  “If we live
by the Spirit, let us also walk by the
Spirit” (Galatians 5:16, 24-25)

In Ephesians 5:19-21, Paul speaks of
the results of the Spirit-filled life.
First, is an attitude of worship (v.
19).  God’s Spirit in the heart puts
music in the heart!  Personally, I
believe the music of Christians ought to
be a distinct characteristic that sets
believers apart from the world.  One of
my concerns is that much of our worship
music today is taking on the worldly
means and sounds.  Words of Christian
music should always be biblical, not
just personal sentimentality with some
Christian terms thrown in.

Second, is an attitude of thanksgiving
(v. 20)  One of the signs of these days
is unthankfulness.  “Giving thanks for
all things” means that the believer
submitted to the Spirit recognizes God’s
control in every detail of our lives.
Joni Eareckson Tada, a quadriplegic,
said, “Giving thanks is not a matter of
feeling thankful, it is a matter of
obedience.”

The third result Paul mentions is an
attitude of accommodation, submitting to
one another (v. 21).  It means not
thinking more highly of ourselves than
we should (Romans 12:3).  It’s the
“mind” of Christ who humbled himself to
become the sacrifice for sin
(Philippians 2:5-11).

Remember, if you are a believer, the
Spirit of God dwells within you.  It’s
now a matter of whether you will
consistently submit to him.

HIS MANSION CELEBRATES
40 YEARS OF MINISTRY!

August 2011

His Mansion offers Christian counseling
and long term residential care for those
with addiction and substance abuse
problems. We help men and women between
18-35 years old who are struggling with
substance abuse, sexual addiction,
pornography, eating disorders,
depression disorders and other mental
health issues.

Christian Counseling

At His Mansion, we believe ultimate
healing comes through Jesus Christ by
the agency of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, our Christian counseling
approach emphasizes the importance of
becoming a new person in Christ. God’s
Word is the foundation of our teaching,
with a special emphasis on character
transformation. Classroom time, social
interaction and personal counseling
occur within an accepting Christian
community.

Residential Care

His Mansion’s residential care program
is approximately a year long and
consists of a rigorous work schedule,
"Growing in Stature" classes, group and
individual counseling, and devotional
quiet time. Our residential care
Christian community is well suited to
help anyone struggling with addiction
and trauma recovery. Those not willing
to cooperate fully with the program need
not apply. Those who play games after
arrival will be asked to leave. The
staff genuinely cares about our
residents and will only work with those
who exhibit a genuine desire to change.
His Mansion: A Place of Healing and
Hope!

Blessings

Last week His Mansion was extremely
blessed with a semi truck load of
produce—a generous donation that more
than made up for our lack of food after
a bad growing season. Residents and
staff knew the truck was coming, but no
one could predict the overwhelming sense
of joy as 20 pallets of corn, green
peppers, tomatoes and broccoli were
unloaded.

This blessing we received was much
needed and much appreciated—but it was
also labor intensive. All residents and
staff were called in to help clean, prep
and bag the produce, working long hours
and weekends in order to get it into the
freezers quickly. We received a
blessing, but we were also required to
invest ourselves. The blessing itself
would have literally spoiled had we
chosen to receive it and then do nothing
with it.

Christ also calls us to invest ourselves
in the blessings He gives us. Many times
I want my blessings prepackaged and
ready to “eat,” but He calls us to
devote ourselves to preserving the gifts
He gives us in order to provide for His
people in the future. I am challenged by
the fact that I so often want the
finished product. May I always be
willing to invest myself in the
blessings the Lord has entrusted me
with, and not complain when the Lord’s
gifts aren’t shrink-wrapped as I think
they should be.

“From everyone who has been given much,
much will be demanded; and from the one
who has been entrusted with much, much
more will be asked.”—Luke 12:48

A Firm Foundation

“These things I command you, that ye
love one another.”  (John 15:17)

In Luke 6:47-48, Jesus said:
 “Whosoever cometh to me, and
heareth my sayings, and doeth
them, I will shew you to whom he is
like: He is like a man which built an
house, and digged deep, and laid the
foundation on a rock: and when the flood
arose, the stream beat vehemently upon
that house, and could not shake it… for
it was founded upon a rock.”

That is probably a familiar scripture
to you. Today I want you to do
something new with it, and put it
together with what Jesus said
in John 15:17:

“These Things I Command You… That
Ye Love One Another!”

That one word Love sums up all Jesus said
for us to do. If you build your life on it,
even the most violent storms of this world
will be unable to shake you. It will make
you solid in every area of your life.
If you build your family on love, you can
win back those the devil has stolen from
you. You can win them to Jesus with
the love of God.

When you build your business on
love, you will prosper beyond your
wildest dreams. I had a friend who did
that. He went into a television and
radio business in his church. He wanted
to buy a station from a Jewish man and
he offered such a good price for it that
the owner was stunned. “Why would you
offer me such a wonderful price?” asked
the Jewish owner. “Because the Word of
God says that if I will bless you, God
will bless me. I want to make sure that
you get the better part of this deal,”
answered my friend. Before it was all
over, that Jewish station owner had made
Jesus Lord of His life. He and my friend
ended up prospering and preaching the
gospel of Jesus Christ together on the
radio. When Love Rules, Prosperity Can
Flow! Commit to living the life of love
today. Commit to building your house
upon the rock. Then when the storms of
life begin to blow…at home, at work, or
in any situation…you can enjoy the
solid security of knowing that
Love Never Fails.

Sinner's Prayer

A simple prayer of faith is all you need to pray for Jesus to save you.

If in your heart you believe by faith that Christ died for your sins on the cross, and that He arose, and He is a living Savior today, then that faith can save you.

Here is the prayer you must mean in your heart:

"Dear Jesus I need you to save me. Please forgive me of my sins.  Come  into my heart.  Amen

This is what happens when you pray that prayer and mean it.

1. Eternal life is yours.

2. Your sins are forgiven.

3.  Personal relationship
      with Jesus forever

4.  He will never leave you.

Why not ask Jesus to save
you today?

Remind us Lord

Remind us Lord, when we grumble and complain,
That with a bad attitude we have nothing to gain.

Remind us Lord, when we’re sad and feeling blue,
To know we can bow on our knees and talk with You.

Remind us dear Lord, to always put You first,
Knowing You are the only one who can quench our thirst.

Remind us Lord, to joyfully serve others,
Thanking You daily for our sisters and brothers.

Remind us Lord, to be thankful everyday,
And to be careful of the things we do and say.

Remind us Lord, to share your love with the lost,
To tell them how you gave your life for us on a cross.

Remind us Lord, to tell them You will return again someday,
And to be able to go to Heaven, You are the only way.

Scripture of the Month

That I may know him,
and the power
of his resurrection, and the
fellowship of his sufferings,
being made conformable
unto his death;

Philippians 3:10

To be an obedient and growing Christian, you
need
to be more like
Christ everyday.

It will take an eternity
to know Christ.  That
is what it is like
to be in
heaven.  You will be
knowing Jesus more
each day.

We should be doing that down here on earth.

"Seek ye first the
kingdom of God..."

Jesus is Our Only Hope

Wars rage.
Buildings crumble.
Terrorists
strike.
 Sickness comes.
Death takes a
loved one.

One could go on and on

describing what seems like daily occurrences in our world. I often wonder
how people who do not
have a
relationship with
the Lord make it

through each day.

Ted Turner once said,
“I don’t need
God”.

People with his approach have no
hope for eternal life. Ted’s philosophy is
that money and power are his gods,
and he attempts
to create his own heaven

here on earth.

What he will ultimately

realize is that things of
earth only
satisfy and last for a limited period of
time, and will eventually
fail and let
him down.

I personally cannot make
it through each
day
without the Lord
walking by my side.

I see all the events
occurring just as

everyone else does, but
my perspective
is that
God has everything under

control, that His will is perfect, and that our life here on earth is only the
beginning of eternity.

Hope is the key.

I have the hope that I

will see my saved family members and friends
one day and that I will
spend
eternity with Jesus.

That hope is based
on an assurance that no matter what trials come my way, that Jesus will be there
with me and that I
will make it
into
Heaven because of
what He did on

the cross.

It humbles me to think
that the Creator

of the entire universe
loved me enough
that
He wanted to spend
eternity with
me.

It amazes me that
because God was

pure holiness and
knowing that even
one
sin would keep me
out of His presence,

that He made a way
for my sins to be

covered under the
blood  of Jesus, who

paid the ultimate
sacrifice for my sin.

Jesus came because
God’s law demanded

punishment for sin.

God would not have

been a just God to
allow sin to go

unpunished, so He
sent His only Son to

take the punishment
were deserved

through dying on
the cross. The good

news is that it didn’t
stop there,
because
on the third day,
Jesus rose
from the
dead, paving the way
for
everyone who accepts what He did on the
cross, to live eternity
with Him in
Heaven.

I’ve been asked how can
I be so sure
that I will
make it into Heaven.

It’s
very simple and many people try to make it so
complicated. If I were
to die and
God were to
ask why I should be
allowed
entrance into
His presence, I could say,

“I have served you
faithfully as a
deacon”,
or “I have sung gospel
music
for 18 years” or
“I tithe every Sunday

and serve on the church council”.

All of
these statements would be true but if it
stopped there, God would say, “My Word says your righteousness is as filthy
rags. You have sinned and are not worthy to enter
my presence”

The key to eternal life is based on what you do
with Jesus. If I add in the above
scenario “I believe your Son Jesus paid the penalty for my sins and I accepted Him as my savior and His blood covered my sins”, then you would be assured of eternal life.

Living without Jesus,
staying out of His word, staying out of His
fellowship, will make a person
miserable
(and can have eternal  C
onsequences)
